Proposing on Valentine’s Day can be incredibly romantic and unforgettable, if you take the time to plan ahead and find the best possible place to pop the question.
Your fiancé will never forget her Valentine’s Day proposal, and every subsequent February the fourteenth will remind her of the special day when you asked her to share your life…forever!
If you are considering a proposal to the woman you love, this Valentine’s Day, but are not sure how to make the moment as memorable as possible, we can help! We’ve come up with some romantic locations that lend themselves to expressions of love and devotion – by finding unexpected, romantic spots to take your girlfriend, you can create a moment that is truly magical.
Here is our guide to the best five proposal locations for this Valentine’s Day:
1. A Fine Restaurant
Look at websites in your area and pinpoint the most captivating restaurant you can find. You should look for a water view, or some special feature, such as romantic décor. Also, the cuisine should be something that your fiancé adores, such as classic French cooking by a master chef. If you take the time to tour the restaurant, and speak to the Maitre D’ about your plans to propose, they may be able to accommodate any special requests you might have, such a special dessert, or a live musician to play the violin for you. Remember, this is a night you will treasure forever, so be sure and do some planning in advance to ensure that the restaurant meets all your specifications.
2. A Park
Although February can be cold and dreary, proposing outside, surrounded by the glory of nature, can ensure beautiful memories for both of you. Find a pretty spot, where you can gaze at the winter trees and feel the crisp, fresh air. Plan to check the weather reports prior to the big day, but remember, even a grey or overcast day will take on a dreamy, romantic quality when you ask the woman you love to marry you. Plan something fun for afterwards, such as hot chocolate at home, and warm up together, as you plan for your life, side by side.
3. At Home
Proposing at home can still be special if you create some atmosphere, by preparing a lovely meal, lighting some candles, and playing soft, romantic music that your fiancé loves. Consider writing a few lines of poetry, on a fine piece of paper, and give her the little note before you propose, so she senses that something amazing is about to happen! Shakespeare’s sonnets are beautiful and appropriate. You could get down on bended knee, and ask her to share your life with you, surrounded by the home you will live in together. The benefits of a home proposal are obvious, since you are alone, and can touch one another and be romantic, away from the public eye.
4. After A Special Concert or Event
Plan to take your fiancé to something she will truly enjoy, such as the ballet, or a symphony or concert by a favorite artist. Both of you will revel in the joys of a great live performance, and feel wonderful afterwards. This will set the tone for your proposal, so make sure that a play or concert has some sort of romantic content.
5. At A Family Gathering
If you think of romantic comedies you have watched, you will remember the very public proposals that are made, and the way they thrill the movie’s heroine. Women who are outgoing or social will be thrilled to be proposed to in front of their friends and loved ones. Sharing this special moment with the people she cares about will allow her to enjoy the attention she deserves. Just be quite certain that she will accept your proposal before you ask her to marry you in front of a group, to avoid any awkwardness for both of you.
