The worst times to shop for jewelry are during Christmas time, right before Valentine’s Day and just before Mothers’ Day. Jewelers know this is the prime time when men are going out and getting that perfect gift for their loved one and mothers so they mark up prices. Sure you may see all those advertisements claiming they are having a huge sale but that is just a joke. Sure they’re having a sale but they managed to mark up the prices more first so they could then cut the price and make the deductions look like more than they really are. So when is the best time to buy jewelry? Right after Christmas when retailers are desperate for business and in the middle of summer. Nothing jewelry related goes on during the summer so it’s the perfect time to do some bargain shopping and even try to talk down prices.

Like diamonds? Well that is wonderful and all but you have to know how to buy them first. The best way to get a good deal on diamond jewelry is to purchase the stone first and then find a setting for it. You would think it would be the other way around but it’s not. Examine the diamonds alone first and decide how clear you want, the number of imperfections, color and shape. Find one you like then look for a setting for it whether this is for earrings, a ring, necklace or bracelet. See often jewelers will put the most perfect and thus most expensive stone in the most popular settings so that if you want that setting you’ll be forced to buy the ultra perfect and pricey diamond in order to get what you want. By selecting each part separately you get to pick what you want to spend and make the combination that works best for you.

Not everything has to be diamonds. There are tons of other beautiful stones out there that are often less expensive than diamonds and will make a great addition to any woman’s jewelry collection.

Whethere you are looking for bracelets, earrings, rings, necklaces, charms or accessories, there are tons of shopping sites that you can do some comparisons with the exact stone (clarity, color, size, shape) and find better deals from different retailers.
