world travelerWhile it may be fun to guess on what the actual seven more popular tourist destinations in the world are, there is no real way to actually know for sure. As this number is constantly changing as more and more people get out and travel abroad. But just for the heck of it, we have decided to compile our list of what ‘we’ believe easily ranks within the top seven places for tourists to flock to in the world.

And while this list may not be the most accurate of lists – there are some naysayers who may have a voice or two – nonetheless it’s our list. So if you don’t like it, get a pen and paper out, do some freaking research and add your list to Guide to Better – we promise we will publish it without whining all too much. So without any further rambling and the ado aside, what follows are the top seven picks for tourist destinations in the world.

cancunCancun: This beautiful island paradise in the Mexican Rivera is currently ranked as one of the top destinations in the world. There is so much history and culture that it’s obvious as to why. But just to name a few: the Great Barrier Reef, the Mayan Ruins, the Equestrian center and of course, the blue, Pacific Ocean and the cheap drinks! The best part about when you are in Cancun, however, is the low cost of enjoying an entirely luxury experience. Viva la Mexico! If you are looking to spend low dollars, but enjoy high yields of affordable entertainment, Cancun is the place to vacation.

Cancun has much to offer all tourists, no matter what it is that you are seeking. From romantic walks on the beach at night, to skydiving over the jungles during the day, you will find what your heart and your sense of adventure seeks when in Cancun. The downtown area is littered with hundreds of world class clubs and bars, offering all forms of live entertainment and dancing, for those who are seeking to party. World class shopping awaits you as well, but don’t expect to overpay for it. Finally, your choice of five-star hotels—but without the five star price tags—are also widely available. Making this place both affordable and awesome.

florida vacation spotsFlorida: Families – and old people – love Florida. Perhaps because the whole place is a sinking coastal wetland filled with alligators, geriatric doctors and Disney World. Or perhaps it’s the many islands that border Florida, the crazy deals on beach side hotels to be found and the fact that it’s in the US—meaning no passport required for us citizens. And let’s be honest, some of the nicest, cleanest and most pristine beaches in the world are housed in the beautiful Orange state.

So when you tally up all of the savings and the offerings, Florida has a little bit of something for everybody. The diverse and multi-continental ethnic culture, namely Hispanic, offers some of most unique and savory restaurants to be found in the US. With hundreds of islands to jump to, you can enjoy boating, fishing, water activities like jet skiing and paragliding, sky diving, swamp tours, shopping…and Florida also plays host to some of the finest hotels and nightclubs in the world; and I already mention Disney!

hawaii vacationsHawaii: Ah the Samoans beckon one and all to come to the islands and feast their eyes upon hula skirts, huts and some pretty fine drinks made in a hollowed out coconut shell. The white, sandy beaches, the amazing temperatures, live and active volcanoes, tropical vegetation and the women are all calling…oh and there is some history somewhere in there too. Whether you decide to visit Maui, or Honolulu, you are certain to have an amazing experience when you are in the Islands of the Sun.

The downtown areas are rich with Native American culture, and you can find the combination of thousands of years of history between many native tribes. Exploration adventures are well priced and will saturate your mind with culture and history to the likes of which you have never seen before. The serene beaches also beckon, and depending upon where you are staying, some hotels and resorts even own their own private sections of the beach. You can also visit the reef, dance in many nightclubs and enjoy nearby shopping esplanades that offer unique boutique shopping.

vacation in tokyoTokyo: The Asian version of New York City boasts several McDonald’s a few Dominos, and of course, a Blockbuster, but the main reason people flock here is that its sensory overload. Think of New York, on crack. Double the people, double the clubs, double the restaurants and thousands of years more worth of history. If you can make it past the thousands of people fluttering through the streets, and manage to successfully navigate yourself through the foreign signage, Tokyo will leave you stumbling for words and breathless.

One of the most popular attractions to Tokyo is actually the city itself. Similar to Times Square, in New York City, the downtown section of the city is like its own vibrant neon jungle. Millions of business and restaurants and hotels, all making their offerings known through large and flashy signs. The one thing to keep in mind about this city is that you will never get to see all of it on just one trip. So make a checklist of what you do want to see and try to get through that the first time around. Don’t be surprised if your hotel room is smaller either, space is a godsend when in the orient.

NYC vacation spotsNew York City: This is pretty self explanatory, but just for kicks. The statue of liberty, the many amazing and high end clothing stores found nowhere else, Madison Square Gardens, Radio City Music Hall, some of the richest history in the US, and eh, “What’s that you say? Get out my way eh?” And when you think about the Big Apple, the real first notion that comes to mind: is where does one begin on this crazy, in the city adventure? And that is part of the adventure in and of itself.

Notable stops to make sure that you hit are Times Square, where you will find some pretty damn exclusive businesses, and hey even then McDonald’s is fantastic here. Make sure you check out Little China, Brooklyn and Little Italy. Don’t forget about Central Park, all of the museums. And make sure that you take some time to just enjoy walking around and taking in the many common and amazing sights that this amazing city has to offer visitors.

vacation in europeEurope: Thankfully we won the war about fifty years ago and instead becoming a Totalitarian nation, Europe has managed to offer quite a bit, even if the conversion rates suck on the dollar. There are thousands of amazing places to see, foods to eat, and when in Amsterdam…well, anything goes. So when you consider one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, it is a safe bet that the entire continent of Europe ranks into the top seven. But just to get you started here are some fabulous destinations in Europe.

Amsterdam – where anything goes, pot is legal and you can even window shop for women, need I say anymore? Germany offers a rich history, plenty of beer and lots to see if you are WWII buff. France is one of the most culturally rich countries in the world. England will make you wish you had a nifty accent and Sweden is a blast. There is really no bad place you can stop over in while touring Europe. But make sure that you have enough memory on that digital camera or you will be bummed when you get back home. And yes there is also Spain and tons of other countries worth seeing here.

jamaica holidays and vacationsJamaica: Like pork is the other ‘White’ meat, Jamaica is the ‘Other’ Hawaii. Except of course, you will get far better deals on food and drink. And of course, Jamaican culture is rich in its own history and offers plenty for the avid tourist. The best part about this tucked away island in the middle of a tropical paradise is the low prices on everything. Even cab fares are cheap when trying to navigate the main city districts.

There are plenty of beaches and several exclusive islands resorts that one can choose to stay at, for the right price of course. But the best part about Jamaica, in my opinion, is the culture. The amazing restaurants and the unique taste of the foods. The jungles and mountains, and yes of course, the pristine beaches, to the likes of which can not be found anywhere else in the world, nearly. So if you are looking to spend less but escape to an exotic country, get your threads on and make ready for Jamaica.
