health care jobsHealth care has been a prime topic in our country’s diners and coffee shops in the 21st century. Private health options are being scrutinized with an eye toward universal health care coverage. Part of the reason for the scrutiny is that statistics indicate only one in four Americans seek preventative medical aid while many of the rest do not visit the doctor due to lack of funds.

Even with these staggering numbers the role of health care providers is one of the fastest growing sectors in our economy. For those considering a job in the medical field I’d like to take a look at some of the largest cities in the states deemed best in health care coverage for their citizens. These may be perfectly suited to occupational security for health care professionals.

10. Sioux Falls, South Dakota. 150,000 residents call this city home and it is strategically located to allow easy access to multiple states that also boast positive health care advances.

9. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Nearly 600,000 people call this city home. Online sources indicated a thriving medical community in need of health care professionals.

8. Boston, Massachusetts. 559,000 residents live in this historic and sports oriented town. The combination of needs make Boston a top pick on this list.

7. Bridgeport, Connecticut. Only 139,000 people live in Bridgeport, yet this state remains one of the best states for medical care. That translates into a better than average number of health related jobs.

6. Providence, Rhode Island. 176,000 people live in Providence making it the largest city in one of our smallest states - eastern seaboard living with multiple opportunities in the medical field.

5. Portand, Maine. 230,000 people live in the metro area of Portland. The people here place a high premium on quality medical care of the health community has risen to the occasion creating many new jobs in the field.

4. Burlington, Vermont. The metropolitan area is about 200,000 it features a decidedly New England feel. This state takes health care very seriously and welcomes new professionals.

3. Manchester, New Hampshire. Just over 100,000 people call this city home. The state itself was recently ranked third in the nation for best overall health care.

2. Des Moines, Iowa. Nearly 200,000 people live, work and require health care in this city. The high levels of health care in the state make this a positive choice for health care professionals.

1. Honolulu, Hawaii. The population of Honolulu is roughly 370,000 with a metro population of over 900,000. This beautiful island nation relies on quality health care for it’s residents and guests.

Each of these cities is located in states that have been declared tops in health care services by Forbes.com. There may be locations where the need is greater, however these cities represent locations where there is already a great awareness of the value of health care. Medical facilities have risen to the challenge and the people have responded. Now there is simply a need to expand on a good thing. To do so these cities need quality health care professionals. Perhaps they need someone like you.

Even with some hospitals in financial trouble, I have to say that health care industry is probably still one of the strongest ones around.

People get sick, need treatment, get into accidents, etc. They all require medical facilities, health care professionals from nurses, attendants to doctors.
