A paralegal is to a lawyer what a physician’s assistant is to a doctor. They can do almost anything a lawyer can do, but are designed to assist the lawyer in the fulfillment of their work.

To establish a list of the best 8 cities to find a paralegal job, data was compiled using information from Kiplinger.com and Forbes.com among other sources.

This list is compiled in no particular order.

1. Boise, Idaho. There may be many reasons why high tech companies come to Boise, but the view and outdoor opportunities may be chief among them. Multiple businesses come simply because the cost of doing business is substantially lower in Boise. Businesses need lawyers and lawyers need paralegals.

2. Austin, Texas. This spot near Texas Hill country boasts great outdoor opportunities in a mild climate along with job opportunities in biotech, energy and environmental industries. Reports indicate Austin developed 114,000 new jobs over a five-year period in this city of 1.5 million – many of those were paralegal.

3. Raleigh, North Carolina. This city was referred to as a ghost town not so very long ago. Today it has nearly 1 million citizens and a booming growth cycle. Computer and pharmaceutical companies have relocated to this city and opportunities are plentiful for paralegals.

4. Surprise Arizona. This city features a population of around 100,000. It also features a larger number of those with college education than the rest of Arizona. A warm and dry climate coupled with significant growth makes this city a genuine surprise.

5. Omaha, Nebraska. This location is home to Warren Buffet. There are multiple opportunities for paralegals in the largest city in Nebraska. This city is approaching 1 million people with thriving cultural and technical sectors requiring paraprofessional assistance.
